Cookie policy
1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Staffer uses cookies and similar technologies on the Staffer website and the candidate and customer portal (together, the “Sites”). It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we process personal data more generally.
Staffer.com AS, reg. no. 935 665 825, Tjuvholmen allé 1, 0252 Oslo, Norway, is the controller. Privacy enquiries: privacy@staffer.com.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels. We refer to all of these as “cookies” in this policy unless stated otherwise. We use cookies to make the Sites work, to remember your choices, and, where you allow it, to measure how the Sites are used.
3. The rule we follow
Under applicable e-privacy law, we may store information on, or read information from, your device only with your consent, after giving you clear information, except where the storage or access is strictly necessary to deliver a service you have expressly requested. In practice:
- Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent, because they are required to deliver the service you asked for.
- Analytics cookies are set only after you have accepted them. You can change your choice at any time (see section 6).
We collect your choice through a cookie-consent banner with an equal “Accept” and “Reject” option, shown when you first visit. We do not set analytics cookies before you accept.
4. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary (set without consent). Used to run the Sites: to keep you signed in and maintain your session, for security, for load balancing, and to remember your cookie choice.
Analytics (set only with consent). We use PostHog to understand how the Sites are used, specifically pages viewed and clicks, so we can improve them. This is aggregated usage measurement.
What we do not use. We do not use marketing or advertising cookies, we do not use third-party tracking cookies, and we do not use session recording.
5. Cookie table
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Session / authentication | Staffer (first-party) | Keeps you signed in and maintains your session | Strictly necessary | Session |
| Security (CSRF) | Staffer (first-party) | Protects against cross-site request forgery | Strictly necessary | Session |
| Cookie-consent choice | Staffer (first-party) | Remembers your Accept or Reject choice | Strictly necessary | Up to 12 months |
ph_*_posthog | PostHog | Aggregated analytics: pages viewed and clicks | Analytics (consent) | Up to 12 months |
6. Managing or withdrawing consent
You accept or reject analytics cookies through the cookie-consent banner when you first visit, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on the Sites. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings; blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the Sites, including sign-in, from working. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Your current setting
Checking your current setting…
Your choice is stored in this browser, on this device. Withdrawing takes effect straight away: we stop collecting and delete the analytics cookies already set. It does not undo processing that already happened before you withdrew.
7. Where cookie data is processed
All data collected through cookies on the Sites is processed within the EEA: strictly necessary cookies by Staffer, and analytics by PostHog on its EU Cloud. If we ever introduce a cookie or tool that involves a transfer outside the EEA, we will update this policy and our Privacy Policy accordingly.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Sites or the law, and the current version is always published on the Sites. Questions: privacy@staffer.com. If you believe we have processed your personal data unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, www.datatilsynet.no).
